SUMMARY:Maths Champions Information Session
DESCRIPTION:Stronger Practice Hub Event \nThe Bristol & Beyond Stronger Practice Hub is recruiting now for Maths Champions. This is an Info session with the Programme Providers\, NDNA\, and the SPH. It is an ideal opportunity to come along to find out more about this impactful programme and how your setting and children can benefit and what it entails. We also have one or two settings lined up to talk about their experience with Maths Champions in their setting. \nSo come along to hear more and ask your questions before you commit to the programme. \nMaths Champions is an online professional development programme developed by the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA)\, with support from the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF). The programme aims to improve the maths attainment of children in an early years setting by training a Maths Champion and Deputy Maths Champion in key mathematical concepts and increasing staff knowledge\, awareness and confidence in supporting early mathematics. It has been proven to boost children’s Maths and Language attainment by an average of 3 additional months. (And 6 months for EYPP children) \n100% of settings said that the programme had a beneficial impact on the staff in their setting. It is a low cost\, high impact programme\, and currently funded by the DFE/ EEF. \nRead more about Maths Champions on our Evidence-Informed Programme page and complete an Expression of Interest Form. \nNote: This session will be recorded. \n\n This training is for early years practitioners and leaders working in settings or childminders in our Stronger Practice Hub area (Bristol\, Bath and North East Somerset\, Swindon\, Wiltshire\, Somerset\, North Somerset\, Gloucestershire\, South Gloucestershire). SUMMARY:Unpicking the STAIRS Approach: Communication\, Language and Literacy Network
DESCRIPTION:Stronger Practice Hub Event \nCome and find out more about the STAIRS approach that provides educators a memorable and straightforward set of strategies to embed research evidence about scaffolding into everyday practice. It employs the ‘Goldilocks principle’: not too much and not too little\, enabling educators to provide a level of challenge for children that is ‘just right’. \nScaffolding is one of the most important interactions that promotes learning\, and this strategy will help all practitioners to become successful scaffolders. We will also prioritise settings and childminders in areas of deprivation. \n\nView Tickets\n\nThis network is an opportunity for practitioners to come together and consider how we support children’s communication\, language and literacy through an evidence-informed approach. It is for anyone working in EYs and offers 45 minutes of learning more about an approach with a follow-up reflective discussion about how this might work in your setting or school. \n\n	\n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n	Notice\n \n There are no upcoming events.
