SUMMARY:Talking About Twos: Behaviour: Regulate\, Relate and Reason
DESCRIPTION:Stronger Practice Hub Event \nTwo-year-olds are learning to understand and manage big emotions\, navigate relationships and make sense of the world around them. When children experience moments of dysregulation\, our role is to understand what they are communicating and provide the support they need. \nDrawing on Dr Bruce Perry’s work on the importance of the three Rs\, regulate\, relate and reason\, this session will explore how children develop emotional regulation through safe\, responsive relationships and supportive environments. Together\, we’ll consider how co-regulation\, connection and curiosity can help us respond to children’s behaviour in ways that build confidence\, emotional resilience and positive relationships. \n\n This training is for early years practitioners and leaders working in settings or childminders in our Stronger Practice Hub area (Bristol\, Bath and North East Somerset\, Swindon\, Wiltshire\, Somerset\, North Somerset\, Gloucestershire\, South Gloucestershire). We will also prioritise settings and childminders in areas of deprivation. \n\nView Tickets\n\nTalking About... is a series of informal\, one-hour online networking sessions designed for early years practitioners to come together\, share experiences\, and explore key topics related to babies in early years settings. SUMMARY:Observing Through the Eyes of a Child - The Emotional Environment and Leadership Strategies
DESCRIPTION:Stronger Practice Hub Event \nWhat can we learn when we intentionally view our setting through the eyes of a child? This online session invites Early Years leaders to explore how child-centred observation can become a powerful tool for continuous improvement. By stepping into the child’s experience\, leaders will gain fresh insights into the quality of environments\, interactions\, routines\, and learning opportunities within their provision. \nDrawing on reflective practice and observation techniques\, participants will examine how children’s perspectives can reveal strengths\, identify barriers to engagement\, and highlight opportunities to enhance wellbeing\, belonging\, and learning. The session will provide practical strategies for gathering evidence from a child’s viewpoint and using these insights to inform meaningful centre improvement planning. \nIdeal for Early Years leaders\, managers\, and aspiring leaders\, this session will support participants to strengthen reflective leadership\, foster a culture of continuous improvement\, and ensure that children’s voices and experiences remain at the heart of decision-making.

SUMMARY:Talking About Babies: Mental Health and Wellbeing with Sarah Clarke
DESCRIPTION:Stronger Practice Hub Event \nWe will explore the importance of infant mental health and wellbeing\, and how this impacts their current and lifelong development and relationships (“being” and “becoming” mentally healthy). Together we will share ideas and discuss ways to support the babies in early years settings to promote their mental health and development. \nAbout Sarah Clarke\nSarah Clarke is a Specialist Health Visitor for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health in Sirona Public Health Nursing. For the last 3 years she has been the workstream lead for Perinatal Mental Health and Parent Infant Relationships with Bristol Family Hubs. She is passionate about supporting practitioners across our workforce to increase awareness and understanding about the importance of parent-infant relationships in the first 1001 days. Supporting services across the system to understand the value of their role in supporting babies and parents/carers with these important early relationships\, is essential to providing the foundation for lifelong health and development. Each session focuses on a different aspect of practice\, providing a space for discussion\, reflection\, and peer support. \n\n	\n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n Oct \n \n 22 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n	\n	\n \n	\n \n	\n\n	\n	\n Virtual Event	\n\n	\n 3:30 pm - 4:45 pm BST \n	\n \n	\n Talking About Twos: Meaningful Two-Year Progress Checks	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Dec \n \n 4 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n	\n	\n \n	\n \n	\n\n	\n	\n Virtual Event	\n\n	\n 9:30 am - 10:45 am GMT \n	\n \n	\n Talking About Babies: Talking to Parents and Carers	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Feb \n \n 2 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n	\n	\n \n	\n \n	\n\n	\n	\n Virtual Event	\n\n	\n 3:30 pm - 4:45 pm GMT \n	\n \n	\n Talking About Twos: Removing Barriers\, Creating Opportunities	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Apr \n \n 9 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n	\n	\n \n	\n \n	\n\n	\n	\n Virtual Event	\n\n	\n 9:30 am - 10:45 am BST \n	\n \n	\n Talking About Babies: Listening to Babies	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Jun \n \n 9 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n	\n	\n \n	\n \n	\n\n	\n	\n Virtual Event	\n\n	\n 3:30 pm - 4:45 pm BST \n	\n \n	\n Talking About Twos: Behaviour: Regulate\, Relate and Reason	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n	\n	\n \n Aug \n \n 13 \n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n \n	\n	\n \n	\n \n	\n\n	\n	\n Virtual Event	\n\n	\n 9:30 am - 10:45 am BST \n	\n \n	\n Talking About Babies: Mental Health and Wellbeing with Sarah Clarke	\n\n \n\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n \n\n \n	\n View Calendar
