Childminder Connect: Your Network for Support, Learning and Connections

We know being a childminder can be isolating and tough. Alongside daily care and nurturing, you’re tackling the complex needs of children and families while juggling ever-changing statutory requirements and funding models. Sometimes it feels like you cannot manage both childminding and family life as well as you would like.
The hub is here to make connections happen for you—with your peers, your local community, and with accessible new learning.
Our Network Meet Ups provide online gatherings for genuine connection. These safe spaces offer shared learning, problem-solving and emotional support where you can swap strategies and build a reliable circle of professionals who understand your challenges.
You can access Personalised Online Support from our dedicated Childminder Connectors, who offer one-on-one help and tailored advice. Find out more and fill in an Expression of Interest Form on our website.
Our Vibrant Online Community on Facebook helps you stay informed and connected. Share a quick win, ask a question, access resources or feel the support of hundreds of local colleagues.
We firmly believe that you are the experts. The most effective support comes from the people who live and breathe this work every day. That’s why we’re committed to developing support structures that are authentically led by childminders and run by childminders. Your voice is the most important part of this project.
Childminder Network Sessions: Evening Gatherings for Shared Learning
Are you a childminder looking to connect with others? Our network meetings are the perfect opportunity to meet fellow childminders, share experiences and reflect on ways to develop your practice and business. All sessions run from 6:30pm to 8:00pm online and are completely free to attend.
On 24th February 2026, we’re exploring inclusion in our session, Let’s Talk About Inclusion. This is your chance to discuss how you can ensure every child in your care feels they belong and thrives.
On 21st April 2026, join us for Everyday Opportunities for Maths, where we’ll look at how mathematics naturally appears throughout your daily routines and activities with children.
Then on 16th June 2026, our session Working in Partnership with Parents will help you strengthen those crucial relationships with families, supporting you to communicate effectively and work together for children’s benefit.
Outdoor Learning Programme: Build Your Skills and Gain a Qualification

Do you love exploring wild spaces with children, but sometimes feel a bit stuck for ideas or know what most benefits the children you work with? Would you like to build your confidence and gain a Level 2 qualification in Outdoor Learning at the same time? Come and connect with us for our seasonal Outdoor Learning Programme.
Participants on the course will have to attend all four seasonal sessions through 2026, bring the children in their care, and explore, play, and learn together. You’ll also collect a resource pack with a free resource from each session. There is also an online evening tutorial session to attend.
This programme would usually cost about £500 per person, but it is being funded by the Bristol & Beyond Stronger Practice Hub. This time it is for childminders only in South Gloucestershire. If you’re interested, please read more and complete an Expression of Interest Form before 1st March 2026.
One-Off Outdoor Learning Events
If you’d like to try outdoor learning without committing to the full programme, we have two free sessions where you can bring the children in your care to explore and play together.
Join us for our Spring Outdoor Learning Morning for Childminders and Children on 25th March 2026 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Ashton Court.
Then come along to our Summer Outdoor Learning Morning for Childminders and Children on 10th June 2026 from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
Both sessions are fully funded and free to attend.
