Are you an experienced Early Years Leader or Setting Manager eager for your next professional challenge?
The Bristol & Beyond Early Years Stronger Practice Hub, covering the north of the SW region, is recruiting for five Stronger Practice Advisers (SPAs). This includes four group-based advisers and one childminder adviser. These advisers will focus on improving early years practice through targeted, diagnostic-led improvement, leadership coaching, action planning and modelling effective pedagogy, with settings that meet the eligibility criteria.
As an Early Years Stronger Practice Adviser, based in practice, your expertise and passion will be instrumental in building professional confidence, driving continuous improvement, and embedding evidence-informed approaches across the sector. SPAs might be supporting settings identified by Ofsted, or those with high numbers of EYPP, 2 year-old offer, or children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or English as an Additional Language (EAL). Previous experts or mentors from the Covid recovery programme are encouraged to apply.
Stronger Practice Adviser for Group-Based Settings
- Up to 14 days per term (or 42 days per year)
- Up to 3 settings per term (3-4 days for each deployment)
- Two days for planning/ Hub work

Stronger Practice Adviser for Childminders
- Up to 6 days per term (or 18 days per year)
- Supporting one cluster of 4 childminders for up to 4 days

Advisers must be available for 3 days of face-to-face training between September and December 2026. We hope to be able to share training dates at the interview stage. Advisers will be paid for attending this compulsory training. Bespoke deployments would start from January 2027.
SPAs will operate with agreed release from your existing role, with payment made to your setting for your release. Payment will depend on deployments and days worked, at a rate of £500 per day for Group-based Advisers and £400 per day for the Childminder Adviser. This must include any travel and subsistence costs.

Interviews will be held on the 6th, 7th, 14th and 16th July.
