Dr Elena Hoicka is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at the University of Bristol. Her research focuses on humour, creativity, and pretending in the early years. She has published in top academic journals including Child Development and Developmental Psychology and has run grants funded by the ESRC and British Academy. Hundreds of news articles and broadcasts have covered her research worldwide, including BBC News, the Telegraph, the Independent, The Times, the Daily Mail, Metro, and the Mirror. She created the website Baby Loves Science to conduct research on early development, and share research through blogs, journal articles, and media articles.
