PSED PDP
Starting this autumn term 2026, the Bristol and Beyond Stronger Practice Hub PSED Learning Leads are running the Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED) Professional Development Programme. We are recruiting 15 Early Years settings per cohort to take part in this fully funded programme. Within these attendance numbers, and depending on demand, we may be able to consider up to two attendees per setting.
Who it is for
The PSED PDP is designed for PVIs, childminders and schools with nursery classes who have 2 to 4 year olds attending their setting. The course content is aimed at Early Years practitioners who are qualified at Level 3 and above.
What is involved
The PSED PDP, developed by the DfE, is completed over one academic term. It includes five online modules and five seminars, one of which is held face to face. The course is led by our PSED Learning Lead.
Module overview
- Unit 1: Understanding PSED of children aged 2 to 4 years
- Unit 2: Helping children manage emotions and relationships
- Unit 3: Helping children process trauma, loss and disruption
- Unit 4: Understanding good practice in engaging with parents
