In this session, we will consider what constitutes a loving pedagogy and explore what we mean by love and pedagogy, learn about speaking different love languages and helping our children feel loved, consider how to foster a loving pedagogy in practical ways, and review and evaluate our practice in the light of a loving pedagogy.

In this session we will explore some definitions of schemas and schematic behaviour, find out about different behaviour displayed relating to schematic play, consider how sometimes schematic play is misinterpreted as poor behaviour and reflect upon your children and consider how to plan for schematic play.

The ‘Introduction to Makaton’ taster session is a 2-hour workshop designed for complete beginners or those with previous training who would benefit from a refresher. You will learn what Makaton is, how to use it and who with, you will learn approximately. 50 signs and symbols relevant to your role as a Childminder with the focus being on Early Years Vocabulary alongside core, functional vocabulary.

Parking
St. Pauls Children’s Centre: There is no on-site parking but parking is available on the road for £1 an hour for a maximum of 3 hours, or in Cabot Circus which is 5-minute walk from the St. Pauls Children’s Centre.
