Using Evidence to Strengthen Your Early Years Leadership
The West Somerset Research School, in Collaboration with Bristol & Beyond Stronger Practice Hub and the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) is excited to offer an enriching professional development opportunity for early years leaders.
The programme, Using Evidence to Strengthen Your Early Years Leadership, is designed to bridge the gap between educational research and practical application in early years settings. Participants will engage in three half-day face-to-face sessions, where they will explore the latest educational evidence and identify the ‘best bets’ for enhancing their school or setting’s practices.
These sessions are open to Headteachers, EYFS Leads, Nursery/Pre-School Managers, Room Leaders, and EYFS Teachers, and participants are invited to join us at St Pauls Nursery School & Children’s Centre in Bristol. The sessions are scheduled for June 10th, June 24th, and July 1st, 2024, and will provide attendees with the tools to make informed decisions that positively impact children’s learning and development.
This programme is fully funded and delivered by the Stronger Practice Hub and Research Schools Network, emphasizing our commitment to supporting educators in their continuous professional growth.

Dingleys Promise
Dingley’s Promise is a beacon of hope and support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families. This commendable charity not only operates five specialist early years settings but also extends its expertise across 40 local authorities in England. With an overwhelming 99% recommendation rate from learners, Dingley’s Promise is a trusted source for quality training in the early years sector.
The Bristol & Beyond Stronger Practice Hub is proud to collaborate with Dingley’s Promise by funding 20 places on two pivotal modules, The Voice of the Child and Early Years SEND Transitions. Recruitment is now open!
These modules are designed to empower practitioners with the skills to listen to every child with SEND and to manage transitions effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to the child’s development and emotional well-being.
Priority for the places will be given to settings and childminders in North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, although it is open to everyone in our SPH area. This initiative is about building a community of practice that champions the voice and needs of every child with SEND.
