Stronger Practice Hub Event
Join us for an insightful training programme tailored for Early Years practitioners, designed to empower you with the knowledge and tools to support children with English as an Additional Language (EAL).
This CPD Programme involves three online sessions, and you will be required to attend all three.
Wednesday 5th November – 4:00 pm – 5:40 pm
Wednesday 12th November – 4:00 pm – 5:40 pm
Wednesday 26th November – 4:00 pm – 5:40 pm
What You’ll Learn:
It is hoped that by the end of this training practitioners will no-longer see bilingualism as a barrier to learning/outcomes, they will better understand the vulnerabilities and bilingual stories of their children, and they will start using a range of teaching approaches and strategies that are effective in teaching all children including bilingual learners.
Overall, participants will have a better understanding of their provision through a bilingual lens, and they will lead improvements in their own settings.
This training will be recorded, and a version will be made available online afterwards.
This training is being delivered by Andrina Flinders, Headteacher of Fullbrook Nursery School and Lead Practitioner for the Thrive Together Stronger Practice Hub.
This training is for early years practitioners and leaders working in settings or childminders in our Stronger Practice Hub area (Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, Wiltshire, Somerset, North Somerset, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire). We will also prioritise settings and childminders in areas of deprivation.
