Respectful Care for 0-3 Year Olds – A Reflection on the Pikler Principles in Practice

May 17 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm BST

Free

Stronger Practice Hub Event

Lakehouse Nursery is nestled at the corner of the Lakegrounds in Portishead. Situated in an old Victorian house and benefitting from beautiful surroundings, we provide outstanding care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years old. A few years ago, our team attended training on the Pikler Approach. We were bowled over by the level of respect and autonomy this afforded our youngest children and have implemented the Pikler principles ever since.

During this morning session, you will have the opportunity to go on a learning walk around the baby unit, hearing our planning ethos and how we go about building on our children’s individual interests to create the best learning opportunities possible. We will take a look at our environment and how is it designed to support naturally unfolding physical development. You will also actively engage in workshops demonstrating the Pikler principles and providing practical advice for interweaving them throughout your day to day practice.
