Calm Starts Here is a practical, evidence-informed network session designed for early years practitioners and leaders who want to lay strong foundations for children’s self-regulation and SEMH development. The session focuses on proactive strategies that strengthen children’s social, emotional and mental health—exploring how warm welcomes, nurturing connections and intentional routines can actively support emotional, cognitive and behavioural regulation from the very start, before difficulties escalate.

Participants will also have the opportunity to tour our Shortlisted Early Years Setting of the Year and our Primary School of the Year winner, gaining inspiration and practical ideas for embedding proactive SEMH support across their own environments.

This will be ideal for those working with 2-5 year olds.

East Wichel Primary School & Day nursery is providing this Network session for Swindon early years providers on behalf of the Stronger Practice Hub.

Parking: Parking is available on site, but please note that our nursery children will be exiting at 3:30 pm, so access may be limited at that time. Additional parking is also available at The Wichel Inn, which is a short 5-minute walk from the venue.
