Stronger Practice Hub Event

Our Guest Trainer for this Curiosity Circle is Kerry Murphy.

The Divergent Pathways of Development curiosity circle provides a unique opportunity to explore and embrace developmental trajectories that diverge from the typical norms. This course seeks to challenge preconceived notions and societal biases surrounding neurodivergence by examining the language used to describe children’s development and fostering a celebratory and empowering perspective.

Throughout the sessions, participants will engage in thought-provoking discussions to broaden their understanding of diverse developmental pathways. We will delve into the experiences of neurodivergent individuals and their families, recognising that every child’s journey is unique and valuable in its own right.

The course will encourage critical self-reflection on the language and terminology commonly used to describe neurodivergent children. By promoting positive and respectful language, participants will learn how to create an inclusive and supportive environment that celebrates the strengths and abilities of each child.

This is 3 of 3 Curiosity Circles with Kerry Murphy for the SPH.

It will be recorded.

The format follows: 30-40 minutes of speaker, then break-out room discussions (not recorded), followed by a Q & A with the speaker.

This training is being run by the SPH.

It is Free for eligible practitioners.
