Our Guest Trainer for this Curiosity Circle is Kerry Murphy.

The Curiosity Circle on Collaborative Support for Neurodivergent and Disabled Children is designed to hold space for educators to explore the opportunities and challenges of developing collaborative relationships with parents and families. Moving beyond traditional partnerships, this course emphasises collaboration and recognises the value of personal, professional, and lived experience expertise in supporting children with diverse needs.

Through interactive activities and case studies, participants will explore effective strategies to foster a collaborative approach when working with families. The course will focus on understanding and respecting the unique perspectives and insights parents bring to the table, considering them central and valid. The course will emphasise the importance of cultural competence and funds of knowledge when working with families from diverse backgrounds and the significance of tailoring support to individual family needs. Participants will explore strategies to create inclusive spaces that actively empower families to participate in their child’s education and overall wellbeing.
