Stronger Practice Hub Event

This immersion day offers the opportunity to explore our inclusion offer at St Pauls Nursery School; the rationale behind setting up an Inclusion Base within a mainstream nursery school, the development of the inclusion offer across the setting, the adaptations to provision as a response to children’s needs and our ongoing response to the SEND White Paper.

Participants will:

• Find out about inclusive practice across the setting; observing and being immersed in practice in our 2-3s room and our Nursery classes.
• Learn about the process of setting up a nurture base within a nursery school; think about rationale, values and principles, and any challenges it poses.
• Think together about what Inclusion looks like for the individual child (how to build upon and celebrate unique fascinations and strengthen our ordinarily available provision).
• Develop an understanding of how to meet a variety of needs; in particular the intersection of SEMH and Communication and Interaction provision.
• Reflect on key points of the SEND White Paper and explore how we are responding to this.

Our Setting:

St Pauls Nursery School and Children’s Centre is a mainstream nursery school serving the St Pauls area of Bristol.  We have a diverse and rich community with 17.5% of children identified as have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (2025-6).

Our unique St Pauls Curriculum is designed to support ALL children from Birth – 4, that provides broad and balanced experiences that place the child at the heart of practice, reaffirming the importance of family, community and culture. It is informed by Equalities, neuro-affirmative practice and trauma-informed practice.
