In this online workshop, we’ll focus on practical ways to bring more musical creativity into the baby room daily. Mona will offer starting points for bringing more musical creativity into the baby room. Then, there will be the chance to work together to develop practical ideas and tips that you can take back to your place of work to make a difference immediately. We know that musical creativity is something that binds babies, children and adults together – it’s part of what makes us who we are. So, finding ways to be more musically creative with babies is part of developing a happier and healthier baby room.

This session will explore the role of the key person in tuning in to babies and reflecting upon babies' rights, and listening to their voice, both verbal and nonverbal. It builds upon previous sessions "Getting it Right with Babies" and "Talking with Babies".

In this session Dr Elena Hoicka will discuss research-based evidence about how to share humour with children from infancy through 3 years. She will discuss when infants first understand and produce humour and go through 21 types of humour that children appreciate in the first four years. She will also discuss how you can share humour with children and understand when they joke with you. Finally, she will discuss research about early humour's potential benefits.

Parking
St. Pauls Children’s Centre: There is no on-site parking but parking is available on the road for £1 an hour for a maximum of 3 hours, or in Cabot Circus which is 5-minute walk from the St. Pauls Children’s Centre.
